Super Slick Premium theme is here!

Super slick is our versatile modern theme. It seems more people are looking for a blank-ish canvas for their website. Something with some style built in, but nothing too obtrusive. The idea here is to have three columns, centring the content into a book-page width, making it really readable and great for tablets and smart-phones. As you zoom, the content will centre nicely. The headers are off to the side, offering a very cool look and giving a little more of a magazine look than the boring old top down web-look.

    I have super slick (I really like it and sadly don’t have premium) and I watched the video, I was wondering if there was anyway to change the background from the beige-ish color. If it helps in anyway my website is gotspin.net/blog.

    I might add that feature to superslick premium if you are wanting that. To change the background colour, in your style.css file change the line body {
    background-color: #eee; to another #eee is the current colour (hex value). Also the #wrapper { background-color: #eee; and #insidewrapper { background-color: #eee; to the same.

    Be sure to make a backup first!

    Thank you for responding so fast! I don’t really know how to script and trying to do that would end up a disaster, if you were to make a thing where you could change the color of the background (Preferably with a color wheel like changing the highlight color) I would definitely buy the premium version! On a separate note, on my website I am trying to find a thing that shows you how many times your website has been visited. I found a plugin that tried doing that (BAW Post Views Count) but it looks terrible (Just a number in parenthesis) and I was wondering if to get a number of visits like that is that a plugin thing or a theme thing?
    Thanks for all the help,
    Spencer

    P.S Ignore the visits thing, I found a plugin and got it to work

    Theme 7,
    I’m really sorry that I asked you so many questions but I have one final question. I have searched plugin after plugin and I can’t find a way to make a custom 404 page (That the user can put in one of their images) . Then after researching it on the web it sounds as if I have to do it through theme editor. Considering you are the person who created the theme I use I was wondering if you could tell me how to put one of my own images in the 404 error page. (And in a dream world if you click the image it would go back to the home page.) Also I just wanted to let you know that I am in the process of buying super-slick premium regardless if you make the background color changer & and help me with my 404 page or not (Though one and/or the the other would greatly appreciated) the only reason I have not purchased it yet is because I need my dad to buy it online with my. And one more question, if I makethe 404 page before I get super-slick premium will I lose the 404 page or will it carry to the new theme? (I currently have the free super slick)
    Thank you,
    Spencer

      Hi Spencer,

      In the 404.php file of the theme, you can put whatever you like in there.
      The 404.php file doesn’t change from the premium to the free, so you could make changes and then copy it to the new theme.

      To put an image on the 404 page;

      FInd this code:

      Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you were looking for.

      You can put whatever you want after .

      Upload an image to your media library copy the URL and enter is where YOURIMAGE is, then change the following code where YOURWEBSITE is, to your own URL;

      So your code will look something like

      Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you were looking for.

      • Spencer

        I tried doing that the image did not pop up, here is the code, could you tell me where I went wrong. I think it has to with the facter that I didn’t see a YOURWEBSITE part.

        Or perhaps a search

        • Spencer

          And the click here to go home thing doesn’t pop up either. You can take a look at what it looks like here gotspin.net/blog/greshjgklerhgkltj

    Theme 7,
    I figured out I had two http://'s and got rid of one, it works perfectly now, except I was curious, would it be possible to make it if you click the image it goes to gotspin.net, if so can tell me how? Here is my current code.

    Ignore everything about the 404 page! Thank you SO much, with your information and with tidbits online I was able to make my dream 404 page. I will definitely try to convince my dad to purchase this tonight. Not only do you make an excellent theme, you are very responsive and helpful.
    Thank you so much,
    Spencer

    I’m sorry, but I cannot figure out how to change my background color either, and your last comment referring how doesn’t make sense to me.

    • Theme7

      In the style.css file, there are three references to the ‘background-color: #eee’ Change ‘#eee’ to the color that you want.

    How can I limit the number of posts that show up on the main page?

  • Tim

    Hi, Using this theme, heavily edited but works great. I love the slideshow but I was wondering if there is a way of turning it on or off for certain static pages. At the moment it only has the option for slideshows on one (front) or all pages.

    What I was wondering is If I am using custom layouts for my static pages to get slightly different page layouts, where in the code can I turn off the slideshow. I have scoured through all the .php files in the editor looking for exactly which line tells the slideshow to display on the page but cant find it.

    Basically I am trying to find the ‘switch’ in the code for turning the slideshow on and off outside of the theme settings.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

      Hi Tim,

      In the header.php file there is a section dictating which slideshows run on which pages depending on what is switched on or off in the theme options. You can put more limitations on which pages show which slideshow via conditional tags;
      http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags

      Look for the section if (is_front_page()) {
      include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/slideshow1.php’); }

      else if (is_home()) {
      include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/slideshow1.php’); }

      If you have a specific page you’d like to remove the slidewhow from insert a line similar to this “else if (is_single( ’17′ ) ) { }”

      17 being the post number. Empty brackets remove the slideshow1.php reference. There are two different slideshow files

      I hope that makes sense!

      Thanks, Emerson

      • Tim

        Wow, thanks for the quick reply!

        Will give it a go

        • Tim

          Just another quick one but is there an easy way of having different more than one variation of slideshow. I know there are a lot of slideshow pluins out there but yours works incredibly well for what I want.

          I was wondering if it was as simple as copying say slideshow1.php, changing the image file names and adding a line to the header.php as you described above? Or is that going to cause a meltdown. Sorry for the noob questions but I am literally 2 days into learning this stuff.

          If it helps I am insisting that my GF purchase our bearded theme for her own blog soon!

  • Tim

    Hi, I have tried removing the slideshow from the header.php for an individual page as you described but it doesnt seem to work. I added the following:

    if (is_front_page()) {
    include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/slideshow1.php’); }

    else if (is_home()) {
    include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/slideshow1.php’); }

    else if (is_single( ’249′ ) ) { }

    else if (is_single( ‘guns-guns-guns’ ) ) { }

    249 is the post number and I also tried using the actual post name (guns-guns-guns. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Mitiya.A

    Hi! I’m trying to use multi cat query like

    “php global $more; $more = 0; query_posts(‘cat=3,4,6′);if (have_posts()) :”

    It does filter required categories but crashes footer to be only bellow innerwrapper with posts. Please advice how I can fix footer to be for full width of page?
